St Joseph's Catholic Primary School

Remote Learning/Home Learning Support

January 2021

As we enter another Lockdown a good percentage of school are at home and doing online learning.

There is an expectation that all children do at least 3 hours of learning PER DAY.

All teachers will be putting on Google classroom work daily.

There will be  Maths and English work in the mornings and some topic / curriculum work for the afternoon.

All children are to receive at least one contact with their teacher WEEKLY, to check in, give feedback and share work with the class.

If you have problems logging on to Google classroom please email your teacher.

Teachers every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday will meet with their class at 9:00am to say the morning prayers and brief children on what is expected for the day

All children should have a home exercise book they do their work in - this can be collected from the office.

When the book is full, drop it off at the office and collect another one.

If you are having trouble with home technology this is something we maybe can help with, again contact your class teacher.

If you have applied for and currently receive free school meals we will be in contact with you to arrange weekly food parcels that you collect from school, in a few weeks we will be moving to the online voucher scheme.

Please read the document below which may answer any questions you have about online remote learning.

During these difficult times you may be attempting to home school. Below there are a number of resources you may want to use. There is no expectation from school for you to use these but you may feel they are helpful. What we would like you to do is stay home, stay safe and wash your hands.

We can't wait until all of you are back at school and we can continue having the #BestDaysOfTheirLives
